How do these authors explain the mechanisms through which CSR may create value for firms? Drawing on Jackson et al. (2014), how does corporate irresponsibility complicate the business case for CSR? Using examples from the class, analyze a case where CSR initiatives were effective and one where they failed, illustrating both the strengths and limitations of the business case argument.

Using only core readings from the course, compare how institutions shape CSR in different countries, drawing on Maten & Moon (2008) and Tarim et al. (2021). How do explicit and implicit CSR approaches vary across institutional contexts, and what role do regulatory and market factors play in shaping corporate behavior? Drawing on Reinecke & Donaghey (2018), how do contexts of weak state regulation complicate the adoption and enforcement of CSR? Provide examples from the class to illustrate your arguments.
