Relying on a close reading of Yen Le Espiritu’s study of Filipina Health Care professionals and Susan Eckstein and Thanh-Nghi Nguyen’s study of Vietnamese manicurists, write a critical essay that examines how these two case studies reveal the social forces and immigrant creativity that shape Asian American economic life.
