1. Discuss how an intraoral examination should be carried out for an edentulous patient and explain what information should be gathered. (15 Marks)
2. Discuss how you can provide culturally safe care for your patients and provide two examples of things you could do to promote culturally safe care. (15 Marks)
3. Provide a possible treatment plan for a patient suffering from diabetes
mellitus who has a reduced saliva rate and complains their upper denture has reduced retention most afternoons and their lower denture causes continued ulceration of their ridges. Map out what discussion you would have with your patient regarding a possible prognosis. (20 Marks)
4. Discuss when an irreversible hydrocolloid impression material would be indicated when taking an impression of an edentulous maxilla. (10 Marks)
5. Discuss how to determine correct lip support and anterior teeth selection for an edentulous patient receiving complete dentures. (10 Marks)
6. Discuss the importance of obtaining the correct occlusal vertical dimension for a completely edentulous patient and discuss the techniques/observations you can use to confirm the occlusal vertical dimension is incorrect. (15 Marks)
7. Describe all the clinical processes/steps that are needed to be done when completing a post-insertion check of a recently delivered complete denture. (15 Marks)
